Writing code for a website takes a technical mind and a lot of time. Many of us do not want to spend hours figuring out if we have the correct div tags, JS, and CSS in place to make our sites run smoothly. For this reason, drag and drop website creation was developed. If you want to create a website and do not want to code, I use nine tools to build sites without writing code.
- WordPress
Simple, accessible, and easy to use, WordPress is the CMS site software for anyone who needs to update a blog or media content regularly. While you can drag and drop the entire site, you are recommended to choose a template that best meets your purpose and then customize the size as needed. WordPress domain and hosting will need to be acquired once the site is built.
- Wix
Wix offers over 500 templates for you to choose from and is one of the top free website drag and drop platforms available. I love Wix because it is mobile-friendly and ready to go when you make it live. You do not have to code the mobile-friendly site. As Google analytics requires mobile-friendly sites for SERPs, this is a huge plus.
- Weebly
Powered by Square, Weebly gives the entrepreneur the power to create their e-commerce site without hiring a coder. You can start by creating either a place to showcase your work or make an online store. Weebly does offer a free custom domain for a year, templates, and customer service. When obtaining your domain name, you may wish to transfer the domain and purchase a longer duration than a year's ownership, as your business will last longer than a year, and you don't want to find yourself without a domain name registered.
- Zyro
Zyro is a low-cost way to set up a professional website without code. While a package starts around $9, the $13 option gives you the required features. Set up the site and get professional help in ensuring that your site has the SEO and Google ads needed to get seen.
- Godaddy Website Builder
If you have a domain with Godaddy, you can create a site builder. However, this does not mean that the site Is free. You still have to commit to a domain, and web hosting services and any additional content added will gain you some costs. However, if you want more of the convenience factor and wish to have all of your content on one site, from the site's building to the hosting, then Godaddy may be the option for you.
- Pixpa
Pixpa is a quick and easy professional photographic website building platform. The site allows you to have engaging content by presenting your photographs in various templates. The site focuses on using softer tones for the fonts and backgrounds so that your work pops out for clients. With Pixpa, you can build your website portfolio, your web store, and create a blog.
- Jimdo
Keeping up with the latest technology, Jimdo uses AI to edit the site. The software allows you to edit quickly, add, and manipulate the content. It is not a free platform, costing about $9/month, but it does compensate for the cost with the content it provides. Be careful when using Jimbo, as there is no password protection in place. This site should be used for personal non-critical information only.
- Site123
Like many of its competitors on the market, Site123 offers drag and drop style formatting for website creation. The sites created do tend to have quick responsiveness. The site will need to be re-routed to your chosen domain and web hosting unless you plan on purchasing a package plan with the site (which is a bit on the expensive side). Additionally, you will receive emails daily when you sign up for site123. However, the plus side is that you have SEO setting access, SSL, several plugins and a ton of design features.
- Unity
Are you a gamer and want to make an excellent site for your game? Unity has the tools that you need to get started. It is a bit more complex than just your standard drag and drop, but you can quickly become accustomed to the program's tools and functions and integrate the design into your site. Ensure that you upload all files from unity properly when setting up your hosting hierarchy to maintain visuals and playability.
