SEO words or Phrases, which is more effective for your SMB

SEO words and phrases should not be a new term for SMBs. Businesses must have content that drives their target audience to their site. But which is more effective for your marketing? Should you focus on the SEO words appearing in the top search engine results, or should you focus on phrases? While SEO words are important, here are a few reasons why you should be focusing on SEO phrases.

One word among many

Words are abundant, and finding the right word to describe your business may be a bit daunting of a task. However, consider the amount of ambiguousness associated with just using one word to describe your SMB. For example, if your business caters to Bitcoin investments, but your SEO word only states that you help investments, you are not really telling your target market anything. Additionally, when you use popular words with SERPs, you compete with every other business that fits within that genre. As per the example, you would not be competing with businesses that invest just in Bitcoin but with every investment business on the net. Your competitive margin is substantially bigger using just one word.

SEOs for categorization

SEO phrases for marketing purposes and categorization are useful over SEO words in that they put your SMB in the right vein. Entertainment searches are one of the top SERPs on the market currently. As such, it helps to ensure that your SMB falls within the proper subcategory. Keep in mind that you can use your blogs, Vlogs, and social media to increase the target marketing base.

Going against the major players

While all businesses aspire to go head-to-head with the biggest corporations on the market and win, the truth is that for most SMBs, the capital is lacking to do so. This being stated, tactfulness should be used when deciding what SEO words or phrases should be used to drive traffic to your site. An example of this would be an SMB who uses the words “low prices.” As this is one of the key marketing strategies of Walmart, Amazon, and eBay, it would not be easy to show up in the top SERPs. However, if the business uses this in phrases like “low prices on curtains in London,” the margin is drastically reduced. The target audience is focused upon, and the potential for having major corporations show up in the SERP diminishes.

Unless your business has the capital to invest in broad SEO marketing, it is advised that SMBs focus on words and phrases which will drive their targeted demographics to their site. A word alone does not tend to be effective in this regard. SEO phrases have more potential.

Where are your SEOs

There is a place for SEO words to be used. Primarily, the words should be the main source when the overall characters are limited. This is especially true for social media platforms where the hashtag or the number of characters available for posting is limited. In such instances, SEO words take precedence over SEO phrases. Yet, even in such situations, it benefits from including a short SEO phrase if possible. Vary up the delivery and the marketing strategy in these instances. Just be sure not to over saturate your posts or tags with words or phrases which SERP algorithms could flag.

When using SEO phrases to reference media, be specific. If you have a picture of a man in a suit crossing the road, state that you have a man crossing the road instead of breaking up this phrase into different words. If there is a particular part of the media that you wish to highlight, put a phrase that showcases that part of the media.

Make it matter

Whether you use SEO words or SEO Phrases, SMBs must use words or phrases that matter. Research the words and phrases which are used the most in the top search engines. Look at the pages which pop up when you type those words or phrases into the search engine. Are they your competitors? If so, look to see how they are phrasing their content. If the SERPs result in businesses not within your targeted audience, readjust your phrases to reach your target market.

SEO words and phrases must be updated constantly as the algorithms for SERPs update frequently. If your SERPs are down, consider writing a new blog or producing a new vlog. SERPs are based upon several factors, with SEO being but one. However, if you build up the correct amount of SEO phrases, tag your sharable media with the proper SEO wordage, and remain consistent with your marketing, your SERP influence is sure to increase.
